Description Jetour X70

Jetour X70 — mid-size crossover with seven seats and front-wheel drive. Introduced in 2018 as the first-born of a new sub-brand of Chery. The X70 debuted on the Ukrainian market in November 2020.

Design

The novelty has received an original design both outside and inside. Trying to create a car that will appeal to a wide audience, the designers turned to classic solutions, complementing them with modern accents. So, a massive radiator grille with an integrated brand name on one of the crossbars is allegedly inspired by the classical architecture of China. But headlights with a combination of projection and LED elements, as well as full LED daytime running lights - this is a modern solution. However, in addition to the aesthetic component, Jetour designers paid a lot of attention to aerodynamics, reaching a drag coefficient of Cx = 0.38.

The front end has prominent bonnet bulges, as well as bumper relief elements that merge into the outlines of the front wheel arches. The profile of the crossover is perceived as dynamic due to the long hood, 18-inch wheels and the original design of the window line. The lower parts of the windows are decorated with chrome, while the pillars and upper parts of the frames are black, which creates a noticeable color transition.

The most visible element at the rear are the taillights, with the marker lights on to get the most out of it. Then the combination of four bright LEDs, reminiscent of traditional Chinese lanterns, becomes noticeable.

Interior

The X70 offers seven seats upholstered in eco-leather, while the driver's seat is electrically adjustable in three directions.

Second-row passengers have the ability to adjust the backrest angle, increase legroom through the forward-backward adjustment of the seats, and take advantage of deep pockets on the backs of the front seats. Also, for comfort and convenience, passengers have access to climate system deflectors and two USB chargers. The most compromising are the seats on the third row, however, for short city trips or for children, their capacity should be enough.

Jetour X70 has good potential for carrying luggage. The maximum luggage capacity is 1680 liters, while the second row seatbacks can be folded in a 60/40 ratio. The third row of seats can be conveniently and simply hidden in a special niche in the floor and get a large luggage compartment. In addition, the cabin provides 28 places for storing small things and the possibility of installing an aerodynamic box on the luggage rails of the roof or mounting for various sports equipment.

Media system and electronic assistants

Analog gauges are a thing of the past and the instrument panel here is fully digital with a diagonal of 12.3 inches and original graphic content, which has three different backlights for the driver to choose from. You can control individual functions of the multimedia system either using the physical buttons next to the display, or using the keys on the spokes of the steering wheel.

The center console is dominated by a multimedia system with a 10-inch touchscreen and the ability to synchronize with smartphones on Android and IOS platforms via a USB cable. The screen completely duplicates the smartphone, allows you to use all applications, and play music via Bluetooth using six speakers.

Among other things, the display shows the image from the cameras, and the car itself is equipped with a 360-degree camera, which is a unique offer for its class and distinguishes the model from competitors. In addition to the all-round camera, front and rear parking sensors help you park safely.

The equipment of the model includes a large (with an area of ​​1.1 m2) panoramic roof with a sunroof and an automatic trunk opening system with an electric drive. In order to open the trunk, you just need to have the car key in your pocket and slide your foot under the rear bumper. The ambient lighting of the interior lifts the mood while traveling.

The Jetour X70 is also an extremely caring car: by pressing the car lock button on the key, you will see how the panoramic sunroof, blind and windows will automatically close, and the side mirrors will fold. After that, the immobilizer and standard sound alarm are activated.

Of the nice additions: the crossover is equipped with electronic air conditioning, electric adjustment, folding and heated mirrors, tire pressure monitoring sensors, four power windows with one-touch operation, keyless entry and engine start with a key, as well as cruise control.

Platform and engine

Jetour X70 is built on the same platform along with Chery Tiggo 8 , and in terms of overall dimensions (length - 4735 mm, width 1900 mm, height 1710 mm, wheelbase 2720 mm) it belongs to the class of mid-size crossovers. The car has a load-bearing body made with extensive use of high-strength steel. He received an independent suspension front and rear, as well as a ground clearance of 200 mm.

Hidden under the hood is a 4-cylinder turbo engine. With a volume of 1.5 liters, the gasoline power unit produces 147 hp. and 210 Nm of torque. As for the transmission, two options are available in Ukraine: a 5-speed manual gearbox or an 8-speed torque converter “automatic”.

Safety

The crossover has Bosch 9.3 series ESP, a set of 4 airbags, ABS + EBD and traction control by default. The driver is also offered a blind spot monitoring system, as well as a lane departure warning system when there is a threat of a collision with another vehicle. In addition, a downhill start assist system and an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold function are provided, which additionally relieves the driver in daily use on the road, for example, when driving in traffic jams and at traffic lights.
